I have had my E1705/9400 7900GS for almost a year..
well actually I had a different system (originally had a 7800 in it but after severla card swaps the thing was still over heating pretty bad so DELL was gratious enough to send me a brand new E1705 with a 7900GS for free)
The original warranty datye was transferred to my new 7900GS based system and the warranty would have been up in 33 days.. (Feb 07). A friend of mine has been having video card issues that dell cannot seem to fix so I looked into upgrading my warranty,
My original Warrany was the RTD 1 yr base.. I am an IT PRo so I didn't really worry about it.. I have had dell send me parts even though I have the RTD. No Biggy..
But after reading about so many instances with folks in NBF getting whole new systems after a few years simply due to warranty work.. I looked into extending my warranty..
The goods:
after almost a year (33 days left on 1 yr warranty) I upgraded/extended my warranty for an additional 4 yrs.. and upgraded to HOME service.
COST:
349.00 and they are sending me a 75.00 dell coupon on top of it.
so really only 275.00..
NOT TOO BAD DELL!!! THANKS!
If your warranty is getting short... look into it!!!!
