savvio is only SAS as far as i know, meaning that you won't be able to connect it into basically any laptop... it's kind of like how you can't put a pata drive into a laptop that takes sata, or vice versa, except that SAS is neither of those, and basically all consumer laptops have pata or sata.

SAS connectors add a notch to the SATA connector to ensure that SAS drives can only be plugged into SAS systems. This is required because SATA host controllers do not understand SCSI protocols and will not recognize a SAS drive.
