Hint for accidential damage protection

First, I need to get this out of the way...my 8790 arrived today and its awesome!

I must say that this forum was one of the big reasons for choosing the 8790 over an HP ZD7000.

Ok,now that's out of the way. Now on to the reason for this post. I wanted accidential damage protection for my new laptop and pctorque did not have it. I checked with my insurance company (State Farm) and was able to purchase a full coverage (including accidential damage) policy for $32.00 per year. They will cover anything with no deductable. My agent is awesome so it should not take long to get it fixed if it breaks, plus I can have anyone that I like fix it.

Just thought I would pass it along.

I bought coverage for my entire laptop. Basically, if anything happens to it it gets fixed. I do have to deal with an adjuster but have never had problems in the past. Basically, you can't smash your laptop with a hammer and get a new one. If you drop it and the screen breaks, it covered.

Just confirm on the coverage that you are getting Replacement Cost and NOT Actual Cash Value.

Replacement Cost= Brand new replacement

Actual Cash Value= How much the USED item is worth.

Some polices will call this All Risk Coverage. Just make shure you have your reciept so that you can get the item covered at its "appraised" value.

Some Homeowners/Tennants/Renters polices may not offer this coverage. If you are a student in a dorm and you are covered through your parents main homewoners policy, you may have a coverage issue. Check with your agent to confirm.

Note to self.

1. Cancel car insurance.
2. Get Lappy insurance.

Have to take care of the important things
