Hi folks--
I have a Sager 5620-V w/XP Pro purchased through sagernotebooks.com. I recently upgraded from 512MB to 1GB RAM. The machine has since lost the ability to hibernate consistently. It's a real bummer cuz the hibernation feature is extremely useful to me.
Microsoft has a tech support article on this very problem: http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;330909. Apparently any computer with 1GB of RAM or more under XP is subject to losing hibernation ability. M$ has a patch but they haven't released it publicly cuz it has been adequately tested. For those (me included) who have an OEM copy of XP, M$ requires going through the OEM for support, else M$ charges money up front to speak with tech support reps. I haven't gotten much help from Sager yet on this issue.
Has anyone experienced this hibernation problem and gotten the fix from either Sager or M$? If you got it from M$, did they force you to pay for it? If not, to whom did you talk or what number did you call so I can do the same thing?
Thanks.
