help! dell inspiron 1501

Hi, I i recently moved abroad and my parents bought me the dell inspiron 1501 notebook so I would be able to communicate with people back home. Can anyone tell me if it has an internal microphone?? I don't know anything about computers so I don't know where to look, I noticed that there is a microphone jack, should I just buy a microphone?

I don't beleive any of the Inspirons have internal microphones. Your best bet is to get a full-on headset. The problem with using speakers and a microphone is that depending on how you have your volume controls setup the people you're talking with will start hearing themselves through your microphone. It's quite disconcerting to be hearing yourself with a delay while you're talking to somebody.
