newbie.. about to get a powerbook..

So, i am springing to buy a powerbook on the forums here as soon as I get 25 Posts that is.. I was curious if there is anything I should know. I mainly want to use it for DJing but I have seen so many flavors of the Powerbook G4.. Can someone clear this up for me?

Im looking for at least 1 Ghz and 512 Ram and 40 Gig Hard drive and above..
everything else after that is just a plus.

Also..

What software do you guys use on your powerbooks as far as chat, web browsing, audio etc.. I have no clue what I want to install. Either way I am worried about spyware but I don't know if that exists on mac's

any help is much appreciated!

Are you going to buy a PowerBook—of which there have been no new ones made for a year now—or a MacBook Pro?

powerbook im sure of, I can't afford a macbook. Looking to actually trade my gaming notebook for a powerbook

A new MacBook will be around the same price as a used PowerBook.

if he is trading, maybe he cant get anyone to buy his previous notebook, maybe thats why he cant afford it without the trade.

but i agree. if you had the cash, a macbook is the clear choice, and at about the same $$$ as a used PB
