Sorry, I was trying to get 2 posts up right behind each other and my Router (Linksys ver.6 crap) went down.. had to reboot it..
but what I was going to say in the second post was :
My friend just went through 3 months of TECH SUPPORT and concerning the same issue:
no desktop at boot
If you boot to SAFE MODE, and disable the video card you iwll have access to the system (Windows)
Dell replaced the Video Card 3 times (x300)
Replaced RAM twice
Replaced HDD twice
He had RTD service so he was without a notebook 4 times.. first time they returned it without changing anything stating it was fine.
As of TODAY, he still has the same issue and his warrenty is up next week. Dell has agreed to give him a NEW laptop, although they would not confirm whether it would be another 9300 or a 9400/E1705.
In chatting with Customer Care they would not extend his warranty due to all the issues, they stated they did not have the authority and my friend was convinced. Customer Care did give him a 160.00 option for a 2 year RTD along with a 80.00 credit to his account so he can purchase a 2 yr RTD for 80.00 out of pocket.
Your lappy seems to have a deadly issue which will not be solved with HDD / VidCard / or RAM replacements...
I hope you still have a warranty, if not... I hope you had it coverred under renters/home owners insurance.
SOrry brudda... good luck
