What Does Windows Vista Ultimate OEM Lack? - Page 3

I definitely would rather get the retail, it includes both 32 and 4 bit OS.

and I definitely can transfer it to a new computer.

Sounds like MS may tell OEM users Sorry too Bad So Sad if they try to transfer Vista to a new computer

I think only Ultimate Retail comes with both 32 and 64 bit discs. The rest you still have the option of 64-bit but you will need to send away for it I think...

Thats my understanding also, but while I ran Vista Ultimate for some time like yourself Beta 2 (bug fest 2) pre RC1 (pretty stable) RC1 (quite stable) and RC2 (No issues), I still missed the software support like ZA, Nero 6, Alcohol 120% etc etc so I went back to XP.

Overall Vista is a fine OS, sure it uses more resources and will slow down games slightly (2 or 10 fps) - me I'm happy to wait until I buy the XPS1720 with DX10 and a 8900 series card with a santa rosa CPU (4 core 64bit support). I'm quite happy to say with XP for the foreseeable future by which time most software will have to conform and support it or go out of busniess!!!

I was able to install the OEM version that came with my Sager NP 4860 on my Sager NP5710 with no problems. Before buying the 5710 i asked Discount laptops if I could do that and they said yes.
