DTS audio format?

Thread Starter
I am receiving this message when I attempt to play any typed of DVD... " The DTS audio format is not supported by your current audio settings. Please change your audio option setting on the DVD Settings page." I get this message while using Media Direct but if I try to play a DVD through Windows Media Player as well there is still no sound. This comes after a two day hassle with the sudden halt of my dell e1505 laptop deciding to not play DVD's at all and figured out that it was a DVD decoder problem. I restored my laptop to a week before when I did not have this mysterious problem and now the DVD's play but with no audio. I have a:
Inspiron E1505Intel® Core™ Duo processor T2400
15.4 inch UltraSharp™
Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator 950
120GB 5400rpm SATA Hard Drive
Genuine Windows® XP Professional
Integrated 10/100 Network Card and Modem
Sound CardIntegrated Audio

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Kurt

How many different DVDs have you tried?
Have you tried going into the audio settings menu in the DVD and set it to a different format (Dolby 2-channel)?
What DVD player program are you running in Windows?

Try uninstalling your DVD player program, download this which is Cyberlink PowerDVD 5.7, install, then do the online update.

My wife's lappy did the same thing. Wackyt is right. completely uninstall you dvd software or players. Make sure you have the latest firmware for your player and try powerdvd.
