Vista decision troubling you?

So with vista coming out around the corner what has your mind been telling you. Well mine has told me to forget it. Its too expensive and since the upgrade only works on one computer i say forget it or until they change things. But if you are like me or you cant wait the few more days here is a nice download that will make your computer look and feel like vista but still run off of good ol' XP. So if you download it reply back with what you think. Personaly i love it and i think it makes XP a ton better. Make sure you download the "Vista Transformation Pack" under downloads.

Micrsoft changed that rule. If you buy a copy of Vista this Monday it can move to a new PC if you build one.....just like XP.

If you buy a PC with Vista pre-installed, just like XP, you cant move it to another PC....enforced in part by the rebuild DVD not working on a different model. If you obtain new media you could use the key on the bottom of the new PC but you would be in violaton.

I subscribe to Microsoft Action Pack and so I will be getting my copies of Vista and Office this week and I will install them right away on my M115-3094. RC2 ran great as did Office 2007 RC1. The thing that worries me is there are no Toshiba specific drivers and utilities for my nootebook on Toshiba's site. If they dont have them by launch date I will seriously re-consider buying another Toshiba. I know Dell and HP will have support from day one.

I personally will never buy another Toshiba product. After the Gigabeat and piss poor software support for the Vista launch, they do not deserve any more of my money.

I'm searching for the link for download, but it's a bit confusing. Can you post a direct link to the page of download or the direct download link? Thanks! (btw I found one ftp download link in the forum but it's a dead link). I definitely think this will be awesome as Vista will degrade system performance (because it requires newer hardware). I test drove a new comp at best buy with Vista, and it is disappointingly sluggish!

I dont use windows blinds..... it slows down the system too much. It works out fine without the use of windows blinds, the only reason why i would get it is to make the windows and task bar opeq or not.

Thanks for providing me that information. I installed it and I'm lovin it so far. The only problem is that my orb doesn't align with the start task bar button. I'm going to leave that out on the next fixed install. Did you select longhorn, vista, or vista style?

i selected vista becuase i wanted the circular start button. The only problem i have is with the side tools like the clock computer monitoring things etc. it doesnt want to start up sometimes and sometimes it will run two. I just need to uninstall fully and then re-install it.

Yep, the Vista is the best option. Is your start orb aligned with the taskbar orb? Mine wasn't aligning and I selected the widescreen mode during setup. I had that widget problem before, but now it's fixed due to re-installing it. I would say I love everything so far about the Vista Transformation Pack except that some maximize/minimize buttons on the toolbars within Photoshop overlap each other. I'm also having a problem with the save dialog box within Adobe Audition overlapping. Maybe I'll just re-install just the start/task bar only (I think that's the coolest out the vista theme).

Yeah my start orb is alligned on all the computers in the house. Two with widescreen work fine and two with standard also work fine. I have a problem with the text over icons going away too quickly, doesnt even pop up for a mili second i think im just going to uninstall the whole thing and re-install.

Cool, I finally figured out how to align the Blaero Orb by clicking on it, draging it around, then using the arrow keys to position it. My Windows XP SP2 LOOKS JUST LIKE VISTA! =D YEEEHAW! Nice!
