Could someone please tell me what kind of hard drive I should buy for compaq presario 1050us notebook?

I called HP/compaq company,
first time the agent asked me name and phone number, but can not answer my question, then switch my call to the original place,
after a long wait,
the agent asked me name and number, and can not answer and switch my call to the original place,

1050us?

Is that a dv1000 variant? How old is this model?

I'd look in device manager, see if id's the drive..

Then GOOGLE with that id string.... see what the spec's are , current draw..

I would think it would be a regular 2.5 notebook hd... (or maybe a 1.5 if it's some kind of micro-sized machine)

I would think it would NOT be a SATA drive...

Another option is to pull the drive OUT of the machine...

PS: I'd also download the MAINTANCE and SERVICE GUIDE for you unit from hp.com

Thank you for your reply, I have figure out that it is ata driver, not sata driver. Thank you anyway.
