Alienware choose not to honour it deals

Thread Starter
There had been a glitch on the AW UK servers on 18/19th March, where the option of 15.4" Cyborg Green/ Consipracy Blue was a negative price. Unfortunately, as my title states, Alienware choose not to honour its deals.

There had been similar situations in my country where a mobile operator put up a high end phone for $2 on its website and received 200+ orders, but they did not turn away their customers.

Common sense. I would not want AW to honor what was clearly a mistake.

Outside of what Darth Beavis Mentioned, which in itself is enough for me. Did you actually purchase the laptop at that price? If you didn't, then how did they not honor your deal, when you never made one. It would also help to provide a little proof too your statement. I went to the UK site and saw no negative price. Saying you want the price you saw earlier, but is no longer there is like saying you want the price they had earlier in the day because you didn't know they would raise their prices. Where is your proof in questioning their Honor?

Are you that lady that sued MacDonald's for making coffee that is hot?

or one of those fat moronic people that sued McDonalds because they ate there 7 days a week and didn't know it was unhealthy?

Personally, pal, I could do w/o people like you in this world. To complain that you weren't able to take advantage of someone because of a mistake is just poor all around. It's people like you that make it difficult for companies to trust their customers. And that, in turn, affects all of us.

Nothing like trotting out for public display just how much of a moron y'are.

But they can be held accountable for non price mistakes as that is not covered in their waiver.

Hence after some bitching I got a free mousepad w/ my Sentia when noone else did.

Wow..this is the most silly thread I have seen in a while...

Some people need to read the fine print. Even if you MAKE an order, Alienware reserves the right to process your order. Legally they are not bound to honour any agreement until the exchange of money has taken place...

This is just silly......

Alienware, like most companies including shops,DO NOT have to honour mis-priced products. Some do so in order to promote customer loyalty etc,etc but they don't actually have to.Yeah it's great when they do,but come on,where would they be if they did so,they would make sod all money and go bust,No Laptops then!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't be greedy and stop whinging about trivial stuff, honestly there are enough tossers in this world without adding to it,besides your giving us British a bad name,i think it's bad enough already, don't give them more ammo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to butt in here, but I can share some info from experience with people trying to use this approach to squeeze a company. Having an active internet sales site it's bound to happen.

The legal term is "scrivener's error". It means if the person who listed the price wasn't intending to deceive anyone they CAN NOT be held liable. You would have to prove otherwise and considering it's a negative dollar amount, no court is going to believe you in the first place that you didn't know it was a mistake yourself.

Various members on the What Laptop forum noticed the massive price decrease. Two members, one of which was I placed an order to see what would happen. I am going to purchase an Area 51m at some stage so there was no harm in trying

Thank You for giving us the opportunity to build your system.

A sales representative will contact you within the next 24 hours to confirm your order. For security reasons and to protect our customers from fraud, your order will not be processed until it has been confirmed. Order Number: xxxxxxx

Again, Alienware thanks you for your business.

They did not honour it, but I didn't expect them to. As someone has already pointed out the website has a disclaimer against such mishaps. Even without the disclaimer you would not have much legal power to take matters further ...
