Ok so Im havin some issues here and maybe someone could help before i just give in and take it to the local computer shop. My laptop came with a 40gb 5400 rpm hdd its got me by but then i needed something bigger so i switched out to a 5400 80gb and it worked fine formated it from scratch and it ran fine. Now ive got my hands on a hitatchi 7200 rpm 80gb and when I put it in and turned the machine back on and tried to repeat the steps i did with the previous 80gb nothing worked. I can hear the drive spin up and run. I try to get the computer to boot from cd so i can format the drive but it doesnt want to read the cd which is clean and not marked up. so i tried it with another hard drive both to reformat the drive and the alienrespawn and same deal it wont read the cd drive. When the machine is fired up with windows running the cd drive works fine. So i dont know what to do im about ready to take it to the local place but this will save me about 50 bucks if someone knows how to fix this problem.
