Phase 13

I checked my order status via website last night at about midnight before I went to bed (Friday night).

It was at Phase 12 -- final Quality check

This morning I get up (Saturday) and check it out of habit and obsession at 8:30 am and it has moved to Phase 13!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they ship on Saturdays?
Is it possible the web site is lagging behind and it shipped yesterday?
OR... do they just work round the clock?

I bet you that it got inspected and cleared late yesterday, and so now it's sitting in the Phase 13.

So when everyone comes to work on Monday, it will THEN be packed and sent out on Monday afternoon.

That's my guess though....

It shipped yesterday, and it's scheduled to arrive TODAY!!!!

Wow! Ok... here's a nice little crappy story for you... and it's not even Alienware's fault this time...

FedEx had on their tracking site that my computer was going to arrive March 23rd. (yesterday)
I called FedEx to verify this yesterday morning -- they confirmed.

SO.... I took HALF a day of my precious vacation time (and I don't get a lot of it) so that someone would be home to accept the package.

I wait ALL DAY LONG, and nothing. So late afternoon I call FedEx and they tell me 'oh... well it's still in Orlando, the original PROMISED date was the 24th'. WTF? PROMISED date? The website says nothing of this... neither did their customer service lady I talked to.....

So basically I wasted 4 hours vacation because of a date screwup from FedEx. Now my father has to drive up an hour to babysit the house so that someone will be there to receive the package. I already took vacation yesterday -- can't take it again today.

Why don't I pick it up after work you ask? My wife and i work opposite schedules and I have to pick up our baby from daycare, get her fed, and get to to bed after 5. So that's not an option.

The whole mess would have been avoided had FedEx had accurate delivery dates on their site (and in their system) yesterday. I would have taken this afternoon off instead, and my father wouldn't have to drive an hour to babysit the house.
