What should I do?

I have a Dell E1505 with a Dual Core 2400 processor and Windows Media Center 2005 and 1 GB of shared Ram (meaning 2 seperate 512Mbs). My problem is that I want 2GB of RAM but I only have 2 slots in my computer for Ram and both are being used meaning I would have to buy 2GB of Ram instead of what I intended on doing which was to just buy another 1GB to make it 2GB. Is there someway I can sell my Ram without using Ebay or some other auction-type site? Is it worth it to upgrade if I play a lot of games and want to run Vista? Is there somewhere that sells cheaper 2GB Ram cards? Please Help.

Hello, welcome to the forums! I would say that 2 Gigs is definately worth it especially if you are going to run Vista. Unfortunately, you hit the nail on the head when it comes to having to purchase (2) 1 Gig RAM sticks for your laptop. If you would rather not sell your old memory on Ebay, you might want to give the For Sale Section on this forum a try. Also, I found one of the best places to purchase RAM is http://www.newegg.com They have good prices and they have excellent customer service. I am sure 2 Gigs is going to run you around $170 - $200 though. Good luck to you!

Noticeable difference with 2gb vs 1gb.

Sell you ram here or at AnandTech forums and buy 2gb - nice

What do you think I could get for 2 512MB DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHZ? How does selling work on this site?

Someone else can give you an estimate on price... as for selling on this site, you can only place an ad in the For Sale section linked below. Just read the rules/ instructions that are posted in the sticky threads at the top of the board first, and you'll be right.

Thank You. I think I will try to sell them, but I am not big on selling things on sites. I don't want to get ripped off or anything. I do want 2GB, so I hopefully can find another place to sell it, or I might just try here. Only time will tell.
