You can upgrade the CPU, it will void your warranty but if you don't mind that then sure go for it.

The laptop has a spdif port in which you can use a cable in which it can split into three 3.5mm ends and then you can plug in your 5.1 computer speakers.

All round the system looks good, any particular reason going for the Z92T over the G1 or F3JP? Mind you intels Core 2 Duo, performs much better than the AMD counterparts, but nothing wrong with liking AMD .

Haven't actually seen the G1 or F3JP models here in New Zealand, we never seem to get the full range, would prefer an intel core 2 duo over the AMD

How easy is it to upgrade the CPU?

Can Laptop CPU and GPU be overclocked? (by much or is it not worth it)

Probably not the CPU, but you can overclock GPU easily with software tools, check out the review and benchmark section there are many GPU overclocked benchmarks.

I just bought a Asus Z92T, Turion X2 TL-56, 2gb ram, 100gb 7200rpm hitatchi....

the specs are to me really good..... the looks of the laptop also real nice.... overall the laptop is real nice

my comments on it so far is this....

-this laptop was originally meant for windows 32bit.... from what I understand asus gives little support as far as drivers go, past whats included on the cd that comes with the laptop
-I had a hell of a time finding drives for Windows x64 Pro.... update: got all the driversexcept wifi(not all laptops carry the same card).
-update: Sound now works in OSX86 but only threw jacks
-battery life is really nice not sure how long it lasts but its good enough for me
-just today I started getting an issue of the computer blue screening twice on me, but I'm gonna try and find out whats happening before blame it on anything:P

as negative as these comments may seem please understand majority of users will not run OSX86, Majority don't care if they're using 32bit windows or 64bit(64bit is currently a novelty).... so in truth the only down see for me so far has been the 2 blue screens and the memory stick support issue:P

the idea that I don't see no drivers for this at all on asus's website tells me one of 2 things either this laptop is really new or was not meant for true retail use if that makes sence.... or is discontinued... which one I dunno yet;P

going more positive side..... I've tried Quake IV runs great maxed out on ultra high with little to no lag, FarCry max'd out no prob, Hitman Blood Money Max'd out

So I have bought a Asus Z92T and have had it a little while now. What sort of speakers can I get that will give 5.1 and allow me to connect to this laptop through the spdif? Will the speakers need a 5.1 decoder? to split into the channels or doe the laptop do this? I haven't seen any cables around either that are spdif one end and plit into 3 3.5mm plugs either
