SP2 USB Problem

Hi

I just insalled SP2 on my friends travelmate 290 and now the usb ports dont seem to work. The mouse doesnt get detected at all, when i plug in my ipod the screen lights up for 5 seconds and then back to normal. Windows doesnt do a thing.

Any clues on what i can do? I gotta get this sorted beore she comes home.

Wow. Can you be more specific? Do you mean you installed XP with SP2 integrated in, or you updated an existing version of XP to the SP2 patch? That would maybe explain some USB issues some other guys were having. MS fixes one thing and breaks 2 more. Been there, seen that.

If you updated XP to SP2, I think there's a rollback scenario in Add-Remove Programs, if not System Restore.

Can you go into the Control Panel and look at the device manager, see if there's something missing?
