Vista Business vs. Vista Ultimate

Hey all --

I can get Vista Business for free through the MSDNAA. But I was wondering if I was missing out on anything critical in Ultimate that isn't included in Business (I don't really care about plugging multimedia devices into my computer, such as an Xbox360).

But other than that, am I missing out? I've been seeing conflicting information from different sites.

http://techgage.com/article/windows_...ion_comparison provides a pretty good overview though...

Thanks

Haha, thanks. I didn't even see a OS forum >.>

Maybe that's why I didn't see *any* other Vista posts in the OT section. lol

Just some multimedia features, comparable to Media Center. I'm on my free MSDNAA copy of Business right now. It's great!

I'll probably dual boot that then on my desktop. I just have to figure out a way to get the hard drive in the case (I bought a bad case, it only has room for 3 hard drives and I already have 3 in there). I'll probably see about getting a 3.5" to 5.25" mount or something.

Thanks for the reply!

edit -- btw, have you tried any games on it?
And is it only 32-bit?

all the versions of Vista (except Starter) are both 32-bit and 64-bit

heres a good comparison of what what's in which version: http://www.powerdonkey.net/signup3.php

if you've got a fairly large hard drive, you could create another partition for it if you dont have physical space for another hard drive... the Vista boot disk utilities has the function to resize partitions

So probably my last question is:

32-bit or 64-bit ?

Well, installed vista on another hard drive (just have it hanging out of the case lawl), but didn't get a choice between 32-bit and 64-bit. Guess that solved that question!

BTW, this is typing from Vista. it's pretty clean in here
I'll install games tomorrow, but meanwhile, booting back into XP.

Business edition HAS the games! Control panel -> Programs & Features -> Turn Windows Features on or Off -> CHeck box for Games.

Chess is sweet, nice addition!

I got the Ultimate from MSDN. The way it works even with the retail version is the key code you get from Microsoft determins the version.
