Is this a video card going bad?

I sent my 9750 back to Sager in 6 months after purchase for this issue, they replaced the video card. This started again a few weeks after getting back and has progressively gotten worse, now it is unusable as the screen distorts on every window or page. Sager's seen these pictures and think it's video card... again? What could the ROOT problem be, as I can't see 2 video cards going bad so soon (I don't game, I produce video). They are going to upgrade me to a nVGF Go 7800 GTX w/256mb for free (I will have spent nearly $400 in shipping and insurance from Alaska, while under warranty), but if the card isn't the problem then what is the point? Ben Franklin said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results; is Sager insane or am I just wound up?

I have had the same problem for the last two days. The way I fix the problem is to remove, completly, the Nvidia drivers and booted from the stock XP drivers. Now the display is stable.

Next I installed the V84 series driver and everything seems ok. Now I have installed the 87.08 driver (from Laptopvideo) and everything seems ok.

This is the first time I have had a Driver failure. Really wierd...

Can I ask a really stupid question? Have you booted into Safe Mode and removed the drivers and tried to reinstall them?

i think i'm haviing the same problem - i just posted a thread - http://www.notebookforums.com/thread214731.html

i tried reinstalling the drivers in safe mode but no luck. probably a stupid question but what did you mean when you suggested booting from the 'stock' drivers?

i'm assuming it's a video card issue cos i can't open the nvidia display settings or change the screen resolution. i'm not too sure how to remove the video card and heat sink.

sorry to spam your thread - just thought you might like to know that someone else is having the same problems...

After removing ALL vestiges of the Nvidia drivers, I rebooted and let the system come up normally and use the Microsoft video drivers. Then I loaded the new Nvidia drivers... Hope this helps.
