I have a Dell M1710 with a Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx NIC.
After upgrading to XP I noticed network file transfers were dog slow.
Looked in device manager for the NIC and noticed the speed options didn't list 1000 (only 10/100).
I installed Dell's driver (incidentally only shows up under XP not Vista).
I also tried the latest driver from Broadcom's website.
Still no gigabit. Damn, this is almost enough to make me want to switch back to XP!
