OC'ing GPU with Vista?

With the 7900gtx I have found that I can't get Riva Tuner to work with Vista. I can't even get the NV Control panel to show the OC'ing page. ATI Tool doesn't work either.

Wondering what drivers people are using and if they have found a way in windows vista to overclock? Does anyone know if driver cleaner pro in safe mode still works to clean the drivers in vista?

Thx.

you can use nTune to overclock the GPU in Vista...instal it then just go to the nVidia Control Panel Icon and you'll see the extra options

Thx for the reply. I tried installing ntune but get a 'ntune server error'. It reads 'Caution: You do not have the administator priviledge to execute this application'. This pops up a few times before I finally get to the control panel where the overclocking option is still missing.

Could it be a problem that im using the laptopvideo2go 100.59 drivers?

Thx.

NTune and using the newest 100.59 drivers don't allow overclocking to stick. It has always reported back that test of GPU has failed. As of yet I have not heard of any software that will enable you to overclock in vista. You need to use Nbitor and Nvflash and flash the card with a new bios.

Good luck.

Yeah I had to disable User Account Control to get Ntune to work. As u said though, the GPU test failed. Im guessing it would be safe to go back from JLMOD flash to the old method below?

nTune doesnt work with the 100 drivers, but anything in the 9* range will pass when you test them...

Its what I am using now to overclock...I think Krayziepop is also using this software.

Wont the card still have the last overclock form last XP session?

No, the overclock is done within windows, that has nothing to do with it.

So I got the 97.54 Vista drivers. Now unlike b4 in XP, u seem to have to click 'find optimal' before u can adjust the sliders. Also unlike XP, when I do this my screen just goes black an my fans kick in. I left it a few mins but then shutoff my comp cause I didn't want to end up frying my card. Its annoying when u cant see card temp or exactly whats going on.

Any ideas?

Not sure, I havent had the problems you have described...I can always adjust the sliders straight away...and my screen doesnt go black...strange...

What drivers are you using and do u know a good way to completly remove the existing drivers? DC Pro doesn't seem to do it.

Thx.
