Vista on E1405

I was curios if there were many differences performance wise between Vista RC1 and the final version.

My current setup is a Inspiron E1405 with

1.6ghz Dual Core
80gb Hard drive ( 57 gigs Windows MCE and the rest to OS X)
1gb Ram
GMA 950 integrated

I know RC1 ran pretty darn good.
Not perfect or as good as MCE or Tiger but still acceptable.

I figured I should prolly get an extra gig of ram.

Oh and I would probably get Ultimate or Home Premium cuz I want media center and Aero. And Home Basic would suck.

So what do ya think?

Just on a side note what Osx do you have installed 10.4.8? I was thinking of installing it on my e1405 but never got round to it. Any suggestions as to how well it works and whether the installation procedure is straight forward or one has to jum through some hoops?
Thx

I'm running 10.4.6 and everything works but audio. It was a pretty simple installation if you have acronis and know how to do it. Make sure you have a 1390 wifi card the 3945 intel doesnt work. I had to trade for one to get it to work.

any opinions 'bout vista

I just installed Vista Business on my e1405. I only have 1gb of ram and everything seems to be working well. I was having a few driver problems, but other than that things are working great. As far as comparison between the final and RC1, I don't know. I was running Beta 2 when it first came out, and the final runs much better on the e1405.

I use Photoshop CS2 alot, but haven't had a chance to install it since Vista. I will let you know more in a few days...
