What has happened with my Toshiba?

I have had my toshiba m30 for 1,5 years now and it had served me well. But now it has weird problem. Whenever I boot and move the screen (back or forward) it hangs.

My friend suggest me it has smthing to do with VGA card.
I had been rough to my VGA indeed, OC'ed.

but if the VGA is the problem, it should be nothing in screen at all isn't it, when I boot. But it boots fine only if i move the screen it will hang.

And also if VGA is the problem then I have to change mobo also, is it? USD 600 will be gone D'oh

Any input appreciated

It may not be the VGA card - it may be the ribbon cable running from the monitor to the motherboard. If it has any bare wire showing, it could cause a short circuit and cause your computer to freeze.

I would tear it open and inspect the cable as dan suggested, replacement cables are $xx, not $xxx...

But I see a couple motherboards on Ebay for that unit for $350 shipped.
