7400 go underclocking

Thread Starter
I've found a few threads on attempts to overclock the 7400 without any success. It's not really a chip that lends itself to overclocking. In the case of the M1210, I like that fact that I can play some newer games with a decent framerate. However, I'd like to see about lowering the clock speed of the 7400 in windows to save on battery power. Anyone had any luck changing the clock speed of the 7400? I read a few reports of rivatuner/ powerstrip not working (these ppl were overclocking, not underclocking, but no diff. really)

Thanks

I use Notebook Hardware Control on my laptop (given, it uses a mobility 9700...), so I can control voltage and speed of my CPU, as well as the GPU clock speeds (and yes, I downclock to reduce heat and save battery). Give it a go and see if it works well with your m1210.

Make sure to also download the Core 2 Duo patch while you are there!
