Anyone share what they are using?

Works ok? Recommend it?

thanks

Any card above 512 mb will work.. But I recommend using NEWEGG.com to check out sd cards...

There are several models out with rated speeds of 133x or 150x and 2GB or 4GB sizes. Check it out. I picked up a Corsair 2GB SD Card for 30.00 a few weeks ago and now there are some smokin fast OCX cards... but those have some flaky user reviews.

DO your research... Newegg is great for variety and user reviews.

My 1GB scan disk from dig camera is too slow

I was curious to see what dell users are actually using, thats worth a lot of weight to have it tested in a similar unit

You have to have a fast card, i tried a 1gig flash drive and it wouldnt work as the read/write speed was to slow. Make sure you get the fastest you can afford.

those 150x SD cards would be great for this but if you have 1GB + ram the feature is moot and practically a waste of money.

The guy who ran the project for microsoft said 1 to 2.5 times the system ram, so 3gb for a 2gb ram machine would be plenty. i'm looking at 2gb cards

Interesting link below from the dude

Anecdotal evidence I read on this dell 17" forum says it helps with a 2gig ram system

Sooner or later an active user will give us his or her impressions on the difference, and hopefully the product info

The thing is different rated brands aren't high speed right across the card, which is why I was looking for feedback from the 17" / 15" dell dudes here

Have fun

I have 2GB of Ram and I have a San Disk Ultra 2GB SD Card. It works fine and it did make an improvement.

There was an offer on at my local retailer and I got this card for just $10 more. Its has 20mb/s speed as opposed to the scan disk model which works with vista 9mb/s

Worth the extra and lifetime warranty too. Its was $99cdn
Just strated using it but system feels snappier for it

Here's the specs in case anyone else is interested:

I just scored a Sandisk Ultra II 2.0 GB card. It came recommended on that UK site and one of the reviewers had a I9300 like me. I had the same success with mine. Fully compatible.

So do you find it helps a fair bit? I have the same system as you with the 2600 core duo. How does it perform with games and 3dmark05 or 06? Any point increase? Thx.

I havent really had a chance to play any games or do any benchmarks or tests but as far as opening programs and using windows explorer it works great. I would never go back to xp because of how much faster Vista is, part of which is due to ReadyBoost

I have an Apacer Handy Steno HT203 2 GB model - top rated for ready boost.

I'm using the Sandisk Extreme III 2Gig SD. Works well
Got it a couple weeks ago when they were giving a $20 rebate... cost me $54

SanDisk 4G on a dual core athlon with 2G. Apps which can benefit from cache improve a lot. One I use constantly does common tasks in 30% of time required in Xp.
