More likely than not, they suggested a motherboard replacement in case the liquid had seeped through and zapped components, I doubt they investigated the seepage. But since you used the computer and only noticed the keyboard acting up, then just having that replaced should be the only thing you need to do.
But I would do a 24 hour burn in on the laptop just to make sure the motherboard hasn't died (download Prime95 and run it for 24-48 hours).
