I was just in contact with Sager tech support and they said the 7950GTX is coming out for the 9890 next week! Seems I"ll be able to squeeze at least another two years out of this baby (as long as the mobo lasts!).

Yea im probably going to buy it too for my newly reborn 9860. Even though the 3.6Ghz P4 is allready dated i think with the 7950 it'll last me another 2 years.

Yeah, I've yet to see a game with even a recommended processor speed of more than a P4 3.0Ghz. With a fast GPU with 512ram I think we'll be good for a while.

Slydog75 did the Sager tech actually say that they would be offering the upgrade program for 9860 and 9880's to the 9890 Motherboard and 7950GTX GPU?

wow that's great, but i wonder how much more heat will this add?

since the P4's were notorious for the power consumtion and heat...and the 7950 gtx go is a 7900 gtx go Overclocked...

I really would not mind the heat. I mean I wouldnt buy a laptop like this if i did :P

www.rjtech.com allready sells it for the 9890 and when i emailed them they said that i only need to have a 6.1 version motherboard or higher, but there's no mention of the 9890 in Sagers website. I had a new v. 6.2 motherboard installed as it died on me a few weeks back so i'll just do the upgrade myself. Besides im in the UK so it isnt really convinient to send it to the US for a video upgrade.

@ Babbabresaur: Seeing as the cards are interchangeable with the 9750 (to my knowledge) maybe they will offer it if you specificaly request the upgrade to that.
