Windows XP on Macbook problem..help?

I just installed windows xp on my new macbook. Everything went fine, except that when I go to install the driver CD I made with bootcamp, I get an error (fatal error 1603). I figured this was because I hadnt installed Service pack 2 yet. However, when isntalling service pack 2, I keep getting an error 1/2 way through that I don't have enough space (need 4mb more) yet I have 3gb+ free. Is this a common problem or ??

any advice? I installed WinXP home and have updated the macbook to the latest firmware, etc.

thanks

you need to install XP Pro with SP2

i thought home was supposed to work?

my product key for Pro keeps saying it's been used too many times so I only have Home to work with for now...

any other ideas?

You are most likely going to need a disc with service pack 2 integrated

Pro/Home doesn't matter, its all the same

alright i figured it out!!

I installed Parallels beta 2 (free download) and this worked perfectly and I was able to use my existing XP install in OS X. Tried reinstalling drivers, no go. BUT, then i tried installing service pack 2 and it worked!!

however, when i tried to BOOT into XP, I got an error that i was missing ntfs.sys. Did a quick search, repaired that in the recovery console using windows install disk. Booted into XP w/sp2 installed, installe drivers flawlessly!!

now everything works great! bluetooth, wireless, even isight and all the keyboard/mouse buttons! i'm so happy! I just hope it all stays working.

I'm REALLY surprised about how fast windows XP runs on this. Faster than my old m1210 (m1210 had 1.83ghz v 2.0ghz but the macbook has 512 ram vs 1gb on the m1210)

woot! yes XP runs great on the macbook. I love it.

my only gripe is i can't access my files in os x from windows.

which is the reason i went with parallels vs bootcamp.
