Help needed, RAM Location?

Where are the location of the RAM modules located on a Ferrari 4005WLMi and a TravelMate 800LCi?

I am thinking of increasing the 1GB RAM on my 4005WLMi to 2 GB and I have done the research and decided to get a pair of Crucial 1024MB PC2700 DDR 333MHz SODIMM Memory. Since I have a spare old TravelMate 800LCi with only 512MB Ram installed, I thought I would just use the removed 512MB pair from the 4005WLMi.

The problem is that I can locate only one RAM slot on either notebook which is accessible from the bottom via a small cover. I have read that the other RAM slots are located under the keyboards. Could anyone tell me how to access this hidden Ram slot? Do I have to dismantle the notebooks or I can gain access by popping up the keyboards. I do not want to damage the keyboards by not knowing how to remove them. Any help would be appreciated.

Don't have your model, you might be able to google photos of it taken apart.

But in general, snap out the trim plate across the top of the keyboard, and remove the now exposed screws and lift up the keyboard.

Thanks for the reply, I am just a little worry if there are some hidden screws somewhere that I did not know. I hate to break the keyboard.

You access the Ram from the bottom only.

Removing the Memory
1. Remove the two screws that secure the memory cover.
2. Remove the memory cover.
3. Press the latch on left and right side to pop out the memory and remove it.
4. Remove the other memory.

Thanks a Bunch! What a relief! I am going to order the RAMS now.

Problem is half solved. The Ferrari 4005WLMi does have both RAM slots under the cover. However the Travelmate 800LCi only have one RAM slot under the bottom cover. I even removed the RAM and made sure that the other one is not hiding under the first one.

Anyone with some knowledge of locating and replacing the RAM of a Travelmate 800LCi? Help please?

I am surprised that this post is still here. Actually, I did find the other RAM slot location on the Travelmate 800LCi. It is underneath the keyboard. I thought I update this post in case someone needs this info.
