IMPORTANT: If you download the file and it asks for Disk#2 during setup, then your download is corrupted, you'll have to re-download. Make sure the file you downloaded is the exact same size as I specified below.

I installed these drivers in a 8970. when installed the driver set in the adapter panel shows the gpu as a 9600 not 9700.

Working for me

The drivers are working for me but I am afraid to overclock an already hot lappy. I don't do a lot of gaming so it probably wouldn't benefit me anyway. Would it?

If you use the laptop for CAD and photo development, it might help, otherwise business applications don't need higher clocked GPU.

nevermind, I'm on crack.

I am in the process of updating my video drivers. I have the 3.5's that i downloaded from sager months ago. What are peoples impression of the 4.3's vs. the 4.2's? I would rather give up a little performance for increased stability. From what i have read the 4.2's sounded like they were stable. Any advice on this would be appreciated.

Where in SiSoft Sandra did you see this? Because all I see is that it comes up as a 9600 M10.
This was the first 2 paragraphs of info from my Si Sandra report. It identified the hardware correctly as the 9700 but the drivers show as 9600.
so in other words, is this ok? even tho the drivers show it as a 9600? is it running to its potential this way?
The Omega driver is optimized for the mobility 9700, as it states in the readme file, it just misidentified the drivers running the hardware. I'm sure that will be corrected in the coming update to these drivers.
