Ram Problem?

on my xps m1710, when i right click on my computer and left click on properties under computer the information showing how much ram i have, the number is always changing is that normal or is the ram shot? right now looking at it, it is 977 mhz, 2.00 GB of ram, then other times it will be 2.33 ghz, 2.00 GB of ram

what is going on is that suppose to happen?
