Hi,
I'm proud to have a D510. But with XGA. Because I had bevore a C610 with SXGA, I rememberhow good this had been. Email, Writing, Editing Photos, gaming... everything was better.
So I tried to replace the Display.
First try I did with a SXGA from a D600. (still works there)
Result: Colors were wrong: instead of black there ist always a blue. And the resolution is incorrect. It is as if the Computer thinks there woudl be a 800' Resolution. I can overlay a Resolution of 1024 or 1400, but this makes it complet unreadeable. It looks like a 800' screen run on 1400' resolution.
It's no software problem, because booting is "blue", too.
And it seems that every third col is out of order while the second col shows some interpoled color. But forget the last sentence, this may be a result of the wrong resolution. ;-)
I tried a Bios Update (04 to 04), but without any change. Last week I bought a 2 Month old SXGA from a D510. This D510 crashed because his little daughter killed the mainboard (ouch!). Unfortunately she killed the Display cable, too. But the diisplay is okay.
The result was fully equal to the Display from the D600. Blue-black and resolution problem.
Does anybody has an Idea how to geht this thing working? This would make me very happy.
As far as I know there is only one display cable handling both display sizes.
Thanks a lot, Clemens
