ReadyBoost Problems

Hey guys
I bought this product (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...877&CatId=1994) so that I could use Vista's ReadyBoost feature for extra RAM. The product states "Works with Windows® Vista™ ReadyBoost™. This device meets all meets the speed requirements set by Microsoft® for ReadyBoost™. This will improve system performance without having to add memory inside your computer. The flash memory device serves as an additional memory cache."

However I ran into a problem where it says "this device does not have the required performance characteristics for use in speeding up your system."

So does anyone know if ReadyBoost is not ready to use yet? Or if it's product that I bought that is having the problem. Anyone else having this problem or has ReadyBoost working on theie system?

Also i have an Alienware Area 51M (766). I believe the USB ports on those are 2.0 right? That might be the problem but I believe their 2.0

Thats strange...I would get in touch with the person you bought it from and explain the problem...it SHOULD work.

Back a long long time ago, I had an A51M-766. If I recall, it did have USB 2.0.

Try this,

Right Click my Computer>Properties>Device Manager>Disk Drives>Right Click your Flash Drive>Properties>Policies>......

Then say optimize for performance.

Also, you have two open thread about readyboost. This could have went in the last and people would have still answered it and if you would have searched you would have sen I have posted this exact solution many times. Not being mean just trying to tell you before you get a warning or something by a mod.

: )
