E1505 Bios A13

Dell has put out BIOS A13. List of fixes:

Quote:
1. Fixed an issue that system intermittently hangs during boot up
to DOS repeatly.
2. Updated Dell COPYRIGHT year to 2007.

I like number 1, I've occasionally had problems with hanging on restart, especially on systems with MediaDirect. Hopefully it'll get it working!

Never had a problem with the hangup but I am more than willing to update my bios whenever a new one comes out. Thanks for the heads up.

Word to the wise. Be careful about updating to BIOS A13. A few people have had issues with it. It seems to prevent their PC from starting up, will only get as far as the Dell startup screen. See over on NotebookReview for more. It can be resolved but you will probably need a second PC!
In my opinion, it is rather risky as the only benefit i would get is "2007"!! As i don't use DOS. But if you need it, then try it!
You have been warned, at least if anything goes wrong, you know that it can at least be fixed!

Interestingly that's the exact problem I had from about A09 to A12. Weird.

A13 made my 6400/e1505 defect and DELL already sent me a new HDD since they believed it to be the fault.
I just reflashed to A12 and will check later if it helped.

Dell had removed A13. A12 is back again. Strange.

Dell is getting real sneaky especially with Vista. They are putting problem drivers on the download section then when they find out there are problems they remove them without explanation. they won't even reply to us in the forums anymore. unless they and Creative don't fix the audigy problem that they sold us I can see the lawyers comiing. check out the Creative Forums it is real nasty in there. dell has been no help at all in the Vista migration. Wait till all those poor people get their so called free upgrade disks it will be all over the news.

Well i've been using A13 for about a week now...should I go back to A12?? I've had no problem at all with it running under A13....if it's running fine now, shouldn't it be fine for good?

Don't want a 3 week old paper weight...
