Advice on CPU and GPU

I'm planning to buy a Hp Pavilion notebook, but I'm not sure if I should get the dv9000t or the dv9000z
With the dv9000z, I could have a AMD Turion64 X2 Dual-Core (2.2 ghz) and a 256 MB geforce go 7600 gpu
and with the dv9000t I could have a Intel Core 2 Duo (2.0 ghz) and a 512 MB geforce go 7600 gpu.
I'd just like to know wich would be best: 2.2 ghz+256mb gpu or 2.0ghz+512mb gpu!

The t model w/ the intel chip smokes the z model w/ the amd chip although the AMD one is clocked higher, and of course the 512 grfx chip is better.

I'm actually a bit confused about the cpu-thing ,cuz i've seen a lot of tests and charts with the Amd beating it's Intel equivalents in ghz. Is There any specific reason why the Intel 2ghz beats the amd2.2ghz? And does it also depend on the things i wanna do on my pc, like is the one better for gaming and the other for multitasking, or viceversa? Sorry if this may sound stupid, but I just wanna be sure that i'm making the right decision here.

ghz has not been a good indicator of performance for several years

it appears u have been misreading ur benchmark reviews or been to some wholly un-credible sites, while AMD's desktop processors are competitive, Intel laptop processors destroy amd's on every level.... its not even close

This is very good, nVidia Go 7600 with 512 MB would be so good for the next 5 years

7600go is a decent card for non gamers, barely adequate for most gamers, and when has any piece of computer hardware been "good" for 5 years.......

This card will be very dated within a year when mobile dx10 cards will be all you can buy.

Heh! Then those ones will be very dated the next year too. I mean it should really work good for the current stuff we need otherwise shall we buy a new laptop every year? since we can't change video cards in laptops.

I think the point being made was that technology changes too quickly to suppose that any hardware would remain current for five year. Nothing was said about buying a new machine every year. And there are laptops available now with video cards which can be upgraded.

Could you please point me to some laptops that I can upgrade it's GPU? I'm very intrested in such laptops.

These also are upgradeable. Don't know the ODM for either, or what the equivalents would be from other resellers. Sorry.
