Critique my future desktop build.

PC will be used as my main computer for office productivity (school work), music listening, Internet surfing, photo storing, medium gaming, and minimal photo shopping.

My criteria were 1.Must be as cheap as possible 2.Must be SFF 3.Must be able to OC the CPU (only raising FSB)

Disclaimer:I didn't choose C2D b/c the mATX boards for them at the moment sux (compared to the AM2 board I have chosen), I don't need the best CPU (no video encoding here), the CPU I have chosen is cheaper than any C2D and will do what I want(price is a big factor.....b/c I'm cheap)

Case/PSU
QPACK (Black) $69.99 after MIR

HSF b/c CPU is OEM
Rosiwell, nothing special $12.99

RAM
Kingston 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 667 $69.99 x2 = $139.98

GPU
I will buy this used on a forum (example-->6600gt for $60) In anticipation of the 8600 series or the 320mb 8800gts

HD
WD 160GB SATA for $53

Optical
Lite-ON SATA Combo Drive $25

Total is about $562

Could you guys please point out anything wrong and or offer suggestion on what I could change to get me better performance for the same amount of money.

TIA

Trust me Brisbane, is just a fanboy chip atm go with a C2D E6300, and overclock that bitch, also I would reccomend a Scythe Ninaj, but thats just me.

And btw the 8600, and 8800 320mb is coming out in like 15 days.. can't you wait?

Though the case comes with a 420w power supply, I'd suggest going with something a bit better just to future proof it. Unless of course you are just building this to tide you over until you build your next budget pc with better components a year or 2 down the road.

Yeah I have seen the light and will end up getting a good PSU, Corsair 520w, 620w or Enermax Liberty 620w. Actually my parts list has changed a lot from since I made this thread. (Just when you think you know what you want something new comes out or a differenct produce has a price cut)

IF you want a powerful GPU why buy a mobo with a GPU already installed. Those are for office and movie systems.

the mobo still has PCIe slot on it so I can add a GPU and as far as AM2 socket mobos go the abit one I have listed is the absolute best for overclocking. And perhaps if my video card died I could use the on-board video until a new video card arrived.
