Acer Aspire 9300 Series - Questions

Thread Starter
Hello all!

I have already posted these questions in another online notebook discussion forum, and am posting here to double my chances of getting some good answers.

I have a few questions relating to the Acer Aspire 9300 series - more specifically the 9303WSMi (http://www.acernotebooks.co.uk/Acer_.../version-1.asp if that makes a difference).
I don't own one but am considering buying one. But before I do I want to know a couple things (and believe me, I have tried for ages to answer these questions myself using Google with no luck!):

--1) What sort of motherboard does the 9300 series have (make and model)?
--2) Is the processor easily upgraded - does it come out easily or is there some complicated way?
--3) Does the 1gig RAM version usually come with a single 1024MB module or two 512 modules?
--4) Also, is it possible to upgrade the graphics card of this laptop? I know some laptops you can and some you can't...

Someone be my technological saviour and lend a helping hand!

Thanks, Patrick.

1) Not sure
2) Generally you need to take apart the chassis of the laptop to get the CPU out ... may require a service manual
3) Most like 2x512.. cheaper than 1 stick of 1GB
4) No, generally laptops are not upgradable as the video card is built into the motherboard. Few laptops support MXM - the standard from Nvidia that would allow video card replacements

1) No idea, not looked.
2) Not looked inside yet, but if it's like the other Acers I've upgraded, as long as you're good with a screwdriver and don't mind taking the machine to bits, you're good to go.
3) Mine came as a 1GB stick. Unusual, 2*512M is the norm. It's slower (single channel obviously), but makes upgrading cheaper.
4) No.

I hope you did not buy that Acer since it is probably broke by now since my has gone bad and Acer is not owning up to the fact they have issues with this since there alot of them with Blackscreen issues.
