I just got this laptop the other day from Best Buy.

-AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-50

-17.0 " WXGA

-It came with 2x 512 mb ram but i replaced them with 2x 1 gb pny ram. It's now so much faster. The only thing that i regret about it is the

-120 GB hard drive (for now)

-the only thing i hate about it is the weak graphics card: nVidia GeForce GO 6150

-VISTA Home Premium

So far I like it. Anyone else got this laptop?

I purchased this same computer not bad for the price. Graphics card could be better. I have had a problem with the blue screen of death & computer restarting on its own. Happened 5 times already. Not sure what is going on. I exchanged the notebook @ bestbuy for a new one. Got home started it up ran good for about 1 hour then the blue screen came up on the brand new computer. If it happens again today I will be returning the notebook for good.

Does someone know about the HP warranty? That 1 year warranty is only valid if the receipt?

Unfortunately I bought the same notebook. I need to load windows xp on it and after the installation NOTHING works. No Video Driver from Nvidia work, no network driver work, no wireless at all, no sound... and the list goes on. Has anyone get lucky and make this thing work with windows xp?

unfortunately i think this notebook was made for vista. however, try dual booting it with XP, that should work.

After messing with Best Buy trying to return it for full price I decided to call HP support to see if they could help. After a few hours of diagnostic they finally decided to replace my laptop. THe account manager I dealt with said they had nothing in stock that matched my computer so she said we would have to build one. I was like ok. Then she said well we can upgrade the processor to TL-52, 2GB Ram, 256MB graphics card, TV tuner, bluetooth, webcam, I was like oooooooooooo yeah!!!. Definetly worth my troubles. $1650 laptop for the $949 I paid at Best Buy!

take your computer to the store that you bought it from, or to an authorized HP repair dealer like Curicit City. they will tell you that you probably have 1 or more bad sticks of ram as per the problem with hps purchased between end of feb-present. the same thing happened to my mom's notebook. same exact model. Curicit City repaired the ram issue for free since it is still under warranty.
