I MADE FORMAT TO MY LAPTOP INSPIRON 6400
DELL MEDIADIRECT NOT WORKING NOW
ALSO I DON'T HAVE THE CD
ONLY WINDOWS XP AND DRIVERS SHIPPED WITH MY LAPTOP
I WANT THE SOFTWARE AND THE FULLY DETAILED STEPS TO RECOVER IT
I HAVE NOW TWO PARTITIONS ON MY NOTEBOOK C &D AND 8 MB UNPARTITIONED SPACE

There already are several detailed "how-tos" on recovering--especially if you've left the Dell restore partition untouched. You can do a forum search for it. Try "dell restore by partition".
