Free Up Hard Drive Space?

Hi, I've been wondering how to free up some extra hard drive space on my laptop.

I had about 2GB left out of 29GB, while the computer runs fine, I'd like to install some new stuff, and I don't want to go below 1GB since that seems kind of risky.

I only have three games installed, Warcraft III, Maple Story, and Continuum (small game, takes up about 30mb or so). I have no movies, and only about 20 images so I don't understand what is taking up so much space.

I've run AVG virus full virus scan (latest update), AVG AntiSpyware, Microsoft AntiSpyware, Ad-Aware, done Disk Cleanup, Defragmented my Hard Drive, Defragmented my Registry (using TuneUp Utilities 06), and of course deleted the Recycle Bin and temporary internet files. Now I have about 4GB left, but that still leaves a lot of other space in question.
--> Is there something I'm missing here? The computer itself runs fine so I doubt it is any virus or spyware, but the hard drive just seems to be getting weaker and weaker.

I use a Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop, and I haven't been able to find anyone else with this model to ask for help so I'm asking here . Here are the specs:

Quote:
Manufacturer: Dell Computer Corporation
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.40GHz
Memory: 768MB RAM
Hard Drive: 29 GB Full / 1.94GB Free --> actually this is 4.12GB now.
Video Card: ATI MOBILITY RADEON 7500 AGP (32mb Integrated)
Monitor: Default Monitor
Resolution: 1024x768
Sound Card:SigmaTel Audio
Speakers/Headphones: None
Keyboard: USB Root Hub
Mouse: USB Root Hub
Operating System: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519)

Thanks very much for reading.

The best cleaner I'm aware of is CCleaner. If there's any junk left in your system, this program should help.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, CCleaner freed up about 700mb.

I'ms till wondering where the rest of the space went though.

Start evaluating where your space went one folder at a time starting with the MY Documents folder which can be the victim of space waste.
