I just installed 2 x 1024 DDR memory cards on the Latitude C640 Pentium 4M 2.0Ghz. The BIOS is the A10 version on the Latitude.
They are Simpletech 400MHZ DDR 1 gb each. I took the laptop to a shop that caters to enterprise OEM solutions and they had the memory in the shop to test it before I left the store.
I searched all over the web including the notebook forums and couldn't find any definite reports that it would work.
Well, it does work - however your mileage may very if you try different memory brands. We didn't try any other memory.
Total cost was $238 (Feb 2007) I'm getting rid of my 2x256 since it works that well.
