Satellite A135-S4467

Thread Starter
I just purchased this laptop (First Toshiba and hello to everyone by the way) and it is great, was waiting what seems like forever for the laptop to come out with Vista already installed (Didn't want to be waiting for upgrades offered only the week before pre-installed systems came out). There is a program that starts automatically called "Modem on Hold", and when I left click it and uncheck automatic start- the damn thing just comes back on when I start my laptop again. Any suggestions on how to disable this? I do not need it at all!!! I connect Wi-fi and LAN only- shoot.....In fact I have not seen a modem in almost three years except in store shelves.
Well glad to be here and I hope to contribute to the forum in any way, later!!!

I can't remember what I did exactly. There are several ways to do it I think. Either go into Device Manager and disable/uninstall the modem. Then go into run msconfig to remove that from start up.
