Intel GMA950 vs Nvidia 1150.

Sorry! mistake in title. it should say 6150, not 1150

Would it make any difference if any?
I probably annoyed every one of you with my questions...and you probably think and i cant choose a notebook for over half a year already.

but thing is, every time, my budget gets lower and lower
it used to be $1500 area
then reduced to $1300-1400.
now, it is reduced to $1000...which sucks

anyways, the more time goes by, the lesser notebook i will buy.
so instead of 7900/x1800, i settled for 7600/x1600...then realized i cant afford, so i went down to 7400/x1400 which i was able to afford 2 weeks ago....now the only thing i can afford is either GMA950 or nvidia 6150.

anyways, the nivida 1150 version is about $100 more expensive ($1100 or so)
would $100 justify the increase the power it brings over the standard integrated intel gma950?

I think its the nvidia 6150...the 1150 is ati.

But anyway, those 2 are similar and quite a bit more powerful than the gma950. If u plan on playing any games at all, then I would suggest getting the 6150 over the gma950.

god damn...another decision to make

My condolences on your shrinking budget. Have you considered removing serious gaming from your list of considerations? There are plenty of older games that should run just fine on the 6150 or the gma950. If this laptop is more for pleasure than for work or productivity, perhaps you can wait until your financial times get better. I'm sorry I can't offer you more help on this subject, but when I'm in a similar situation, I tend to re-evaluate my needs rather than try to fit a project into a shrinking budget.

Hey labmouse, you hit the nail on that one.
Not only my budget has been lowering (especially after Valentines) but so were my gaming needs.

I originally planned to play latest games on almost highest settings (LOL)
Then i realized that i dont actually play all the latest games because i dont get amused easily.
Games that were installed and uninstalled in 2-4 hours:
Doom 3, Half Life 2, Need for speed series, Fear and almost any other big title game.
The only game that i actually played is WoW...so i had no reason to buy 7950GTX/7900GS

Recently, i quit World of Warcraft..and i am pretty much gameless now.
I no longer have need to play games on my future laptop, but if opportubity comes by, i would actually like to just at least try it out.
That is why i cant decide wether GMA 950 will be fine or will I need Nvidia 6150 in case there is a game that i want to start playing for a while to kill boredome

I think you should get the best-equipped machine you can afford. If you've got the cash for a machine with the 6150, and your needs outside computing have been met, I think you should spring for that notebook. Haven't heard of too many gamers who just quit cold-turkey, never to return.

Save up the money and get a laptop that will do 80% of what you want it to do.

Thats bullshit, and you dont know what youre talking about. The 1150 is half as powerful as the gma950, as showed in WoW, and 3Dmark01. The 1150 gave me 2000, where the gma gave me over 5000.
