phillips warranty

Hi
I am having serious trouble with my sager 3360v. It has now burned out 4 hard drives. The dvd player and gives electrical shocks. The shocks are barely discernible in 110 wiring but quite notiveable in in 220 countries, they say their warranty does not cover shorts in the system.Phillips has refused to deal with this saying it is operating system etc. I have had several senior tech suggest it is system board or shorting out in electrical. Phillips agreed to pay for one outside opinion but never did because thier tech said it was soft ware!!! The outside tech totally certified said it was system board or shorting out. They have now agreed that they could replace this under the lemon clause but are trying to replace it with an hp, since they have merged with compaq who have an almost 30% return rate I am not prepared to accept this. Also when I bought this machine it was top of the line for performance etc. I would be perfectly happy with another sager as when it was up performance was great and we have several other sagers in the family and they have never needed a warranty call. Please help me figure out how to deal with this Thanks

If they're willing to replace it free and label it a lemon, it doesn't get any better than that. I don't understand them trying to replace it with an HP though. If they're willing to replace it you're well within rights to have a Sager as a replacement. Where did you buy it and when?

Hi
I bought it directly from Sager. They replaced most of the insides while under thier warranty. It was ok for a few months then malfunctioned again. I bought it almost 2 years ago. Sager was very helpful even after it was no longer thier responsibility. It has been in for about 6 service calls. Not counting the times we sent it back as it was not fixed! If they replace with a sager or give me a check large enough to buy my own I will be very happy! Hp does not have the dual monitor capacity, swap bays or performance, keyboard or monitor that the 3360v has. They are also showing a high return and overheating problem, the last thing I need after all this especially since i spend most of my time overseas! This last repair session has been going on for five weeks now. If you have any ideas that would hasten the progress in a satisfactory manner I sure would like to hear them
Thanks!

If I were you I'd call Sager (since you bought it there) and tell them they want to replace it as a lemon but want to replace it with an HP.

Hi
Thanks for the help. I did that. Their way is not to outright challenge but that does not mean they will do nothing. When Phillips told me the machine could not run Xp and that I could not have DSL and modem Sager walked me through it I thought they should know though as they have been fair and Phillips doing this to a company that offers thier warranty exclusively is like telling the consumer that HP is good and Sager is a bad machine.Phillips now says they were not aware of configuration and are having the computer sent to them (from Telesource who did the repairs ) and asked us to send the specs sales reciept etc. They did this last year as well then sent it back saying it was soft ware even though the drive had been reformatted four times that I know of. I dont think they can get it to boot into windows any more. I will let you all know what they choose to do next. I paid 2530.00 dollars for the machine and 249.00 for shipping and warranty.

Hi
Phillips is going to give us a Sager2720v or a dell 200 our choice, Can you run dual monitors from the Sager. I tried for the 5660 but they wouldnt go for it. They thought we had sent them an altered system but we had all paperwork turns out ther repair center sent it back with inferior parts which was affecting the claim! Does the faster hard drive make a difference? Thanks for all the help
Dr Amy
