Acer aspire laptop screen troubles

Thread Starter
Hi, I cant change the resolution on my laptop. If i select another resolution it dosn't display the whole screen (e.g. only the top left of the screen magnified). The only resolution that works is 1280x800. I've noticed that the screen refresh rate is always 60hz (you cant change this).

I have an Acer Aspire 5000 notebook running winXP home. I've tried reinstalling graphics drivers.

Thanks!!

Uhh, what are you trying to do change the resolution higher than 1280*800??

Because if you are, then of course its not gonna display it right, because that is the highest resolution possible. So if you select a much higher resolution then ur only gonna see part of that because the laptop cannot display it completely. And 60hz is the max, so yeah u cant change it.

Next time you should've researched or asked questions about resolution, especially if you want to run a high res desktop. And simply reinstalling the drivers isnt gonna magically upgrade your screen to a higher res one.

You're having trouble changing resolution because 1280x800 is the max and native resolution for your machine's screen.
