Sager 5320 (Clevo M560A) Screen Problems

I've had my 5320 for less then a year (which was about the time they discontinued it) and the screen seems to be shot. If you look very closely you can see the desktop but it is way too dim to actually use. I've been running off an external monitor, and thats fine, so its not the Video Card.

Has any one experienced this? Or does anyone know what Screen it uses so I can try and find a new one to replace it? I've read the posts about motherboard problems, and have sent it in once for an internal power supply issue.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the backlighting just up and died. I'm not sure of the screen model, but the best bet would probably be to just let Sager replace it.

I've never been on a forum before, so not sure how to get my questions answered. My NP5320 has a Video card problem. My understanding is that it is built into the motherboard?CPU? Is there anyway to replace this without replacing the motherboard. Or overriding it with another video card?

Are you sure it's the video card and not the screen itself? This model seems to have a lot of problem with it's screen. I found that the problem with mine was an power inverter problem after replacing the screen, and not fixing the problem and then found a new inverter, and it works fine now.

If it is the video card, to my knowledge you can't just replace the video card in older laptops. Your stuck dealing with Sager's tech support in that case. Good Luck. They never really took care of mine and I eventually figure out how to fix it myself.

As I stated in Frankiebsn's other thread, it is a video card problem in this case. He can fix it by replacing the video card, which is replaceable in the 5320.
