Tinkpad T60 Shipping delay

Ordered T60 with WSXGA+ monitor today (2/14/07 last day of sale). Selecting WSXGA (WXGA is the default) changed the shipping estimate from 1-2 weeks to 2-3 weeks. This made me think already, but ok fine. When I added it to "shopping basked"it showed the shipping date: 3/6/07. Opps, that IS a long time. I gathered my remaining brand loyalty, and paid for it, despide the ridiculous shipping delay.


Guess what: when I received the order confirmation, the shipping date was 3/19/07, i.e. 5+ weeks from the order day.

I think this is the last Thinkpad I have bought. I wonder whether Lenovo ONLY cares about corporate customers, and ships to them large quantities on time. If this is the policy, it's a mistake: pretty soon any Google search on lenovo will yeild "unreliable shipping", since it's the consumers that create web content mostly now. That will seriously hurt their brand.

I ordered a T60 Widescreen on 2/7. It's supposed to ship on 2/21.

In the past, I've ordered notebooks where they said they had an expected shipping date of over a month out, only to have it ship in 2 weeks. I wouldn't put too much weight on their estimate.

Frustrated Lenovo Customer

I ordered my Thinkpad T60 on 3/23/2007. I got an email confirmation claiming that the estimated ship date is 4/11/2007. On 4/12/2007, I received a delay notice. My Thinkpad was being delayed until 4/30/2007! It should not take more than 30 days to build a laptop! Is it possible to get a price adjustment?

My case is exactly same as yours: I order T60 wide screen on 3/23/2007. est ship date is 4/11/2007. on 4/12/2007, i received the notice saying 4/30/2007! I am going to make it a big deal. I've sent an complaint to Lenovo. I will follow up. At least you need to get a Fedex overnight shipping without extra charge. On top of that, you should fight for an extended warranty without extra charge.

I contacted Lenovo. A rep said it was due to missing wireless card. I ordered the ABGN card. However, they would not give me a price adjustment. They did upgrade to 2nd day shipping. It has not shipped yet. Do you have a similar case? Any recommendations?

This has been my WORST experience purchasing a notebook computer. It takes over 30 days to ship! I've ordered Dell, Apple, Compaq, HP before online, but they never took 30 days. 2 weeks at the most.

Lenovo's sales reps are brutal and unprofessional! They told me about the the wireless card. They said the wireless card will arrive in a couple days. They say the system will be shipped on Monday (04/30) directly from China. I didn't change the wireless card because I don't trust their inventory management at all. What I can do is crossing my figures. But, IBM ThinkPad, which was the first class brand of the laptop in the world, is fading out by Lenovo bad management. ThinkPad is a Sinking Pad now! This will be my last ThinkPad laptop.

End of day 04/30/2007 - still has not shipped. I am expecting another delay message. So sad. Interesting how yours already shipped. What are your Thinkpad specs?

I think because you changed the wireless card. It must have screwed up their inventory again! They have a very very pool inventory management system. even cheaper than a pizza ordering system! Good luck.
