8890: Win XP -> Vista : Promise drivers?

On my 8890 I'm trying to do an upgrade from Windows XP to Vista. I haven't been able to start it cause the Vista installation complains about the Promise drivers. It gives me the following error:

You must make the following changes before installing Windows

Close Windows installation and contact the device manufacturer for updated driver software for these devices:
SCSI and RAID controllers: WinXP Promise Ultra100 (tm) IDE Controller (PDC20265)

Has anyone been able to find the requested drivers? I've already looked @ sagernotebooks.com, promise.com and they only have pre-vista versions of those drivers.

I successfully upgraded my 8890 to a beta version of Vista. Just use the XP Raid diskette that came with the system. However, I believe you have to take the winxp drivers and put them in the root directory for the vista install, so I would suggest to put them on another floppy diskette and let vista read off that.

It worked. What I actually did was install in Windows XP the Promise Ultra ATA 100 drivers from the sagernotebooks.com website. With that the upgrade to Windows Vista worked flawlessly.

Drivers I used were : WinXP Promise Ultra100 (tm) IDE Controller (PDC20265) 2.0.1020.42 from 5/15/2003

OK, here's what you do. Go get the CD that came with your computer. The one that says DEVICE DRIVERS & UTILITIES + USER'S MANUAL. Slide that baby in when the request for drivers comes up and navigate to the RAID folder, then the ultra folder and VISTA will then install. I just did an update to Home premium on mine. Vista put a whole mess of drivers in, so it's not that hard to get running. It even put a driver in for my Linksys 300n card!
God luck.

I opened a ticket with Promise.com before fixing my problem. Just today got a response. This is what they said.

"Hi Promise does offer a beta Window Vista driver for the ultra100 controller. This driver will require you to sign a beta disclaimer form so if you are interested than I will need you to contact our support at 1-408-228-1400 option 4 for support and we will assist you. Thanks"

Don't think I'll call though.
