What would the performance of WOW be on a 13" mac book with 1 or 2gb of ram?
my 1.83 mb with 1.25gb ran wow fine.

the gma is more than fine for a 12x8 display

since, ive stopped playing, its way too addictive. i love my girlfriend, and she was starting to suffer

I know the feeling lol. If I can play WOW without problems on a macbook and a GMA 950 video card I am set and it is fast enough for me!

I am sold on an apple product! I NEVER thought I would ever say such a thing.

It runs fine...as does halo...i mean the settings are not all the way up bit it runs fine...

it runs like crap, it runs fine, but you have to be in a low res and no settings and ur fan is like freaking loud all the time. at about 20 fps (2.0 CD, 2GB Ram)

imho not worth it, if you want to play games get a MBP

i hope your talking about halo, because wow runs FINE on the two macbooks ive played it on. at 12xx X 800, which is the native res on the monitor anyways. of course the fan is on, the system is being taxed. edit: the mb is a little louder when playing wow then the PRo, but not worth it? i think itll do fine for most.

It doesn't have to play it all the time. I just have a character. I checked the box I have for wow and it is MAC compatible already! Or it at least says the mac specs on the box.

Mac version is actually on the same disks as the PC one.

well my gma must be better than yours then! because i was getting constant >30fps @ medium detail. maybe mine is on steroids or something, but it was never 15fps, ever. your sarcasm is kinda lame...amazing what the forums have come to these days...

i play wow a lot on my macbook and get about 15 or less fps all the time on low detail. i wish i got over 30 at medium, you seriously must have hit the jackpot with your gma. **edit** ok i just did some research on the fps issue and i guess update 2.0.1 helps out macs a lot, but to get the update to actually work for you you need to delete the wtb and wtf folders so it resets some opengl settings. i am now getting an average of 30 fps up from about 12 so it's pretty huge, and this is on all medium now where i was on all low before. this is really awesome.

Wow wont' run great on the built in intel 950. It is known that Wow runs faster on Windows (probably overheads in Open GL under OS X) - you can check Penny Arcade on this which ran both version on the same Mac (Yes, the Windows version on the same Mac runs faster), and the 950 wouldn't just run all that well. Sure, if you are in a town alone you can run it, but it's when youa re ina group or a raid that things will slow down- or in another heavy effects area.

The Intel 950 built in GFX are just at the *bottom* of the performance chain. Any of the lowest Nvidia/ATI current chips will still run faster (that's 7200 Go or X1300).
