Is the black macbook less durable then white macbooks?

snip from review site
This is the most unique Mac out of all of all their notebook lineups because it breaks the tradition of having a white or silver casing that have been used for years. The black MacBook looks very sleek, but I feel that the white iBooks and MacBooks have a much more solid casing.

At this review site he thought it might be less quality http://www.notebookreview.com/defaul...+Color+Version

Just wondering if the black and white are idential quality or if the black truly is lower quality or less durable?

The cases are identical save for the fact that the black ones are black and have a textured coating on them instead of the glossy.

If a black one gets scratched what color is under the black?

i would GUESS its a shiny color when scratched?

i would also venture to guess the white mb would be overall better as far as long term quality. black is just so much harder to keep looking clean. my white mb was pretty great. then again, the aluminum on my new machine is far better

Yeah, it should be shiny underneath because the coating is just sprayed on the polycarb.

I wish they kept them shiny...I mean, seriously, if you get fingerprints on it just take a tissue or the sleeve of your shirt or something and, ZOMG GASP!, wipe them off! And as far as scratches, well, no matter how well you treat something it's gonna scratch eventually...it's just a fact of life.

that was always one reason i steered clear of the black mb. it wasnt shiny.

scratches will give that thing a whole new look. my old wht mb has all sorts of light scratches. i can just imagine what those would do to a black mb.

after 2 months of use, i still have only one small tiny scratch on the bottom of my pro. overall this chasis seems much better in the scratch category
